What will the apprentice be doing?
Role and responsibilities:
- Be responsive to the needs of patients and navigate patient care to the correct destination
- Ensure call waiting times are kept to a minimum while providing a high-quality service to patients
- To make decisions to promote continuity of care
- Book, rearrange and cancel appointments
- Work in both the Call Centre, Prescriptions Team and on the Information Desk
- Signpost to other departments and support networks where appropriate
- Be responsive to and act upon feedback provided during coaching, call listening sessions and developmental feedback
- Check in patients for appointments, process prescription requests, assist with blood pressure monitoring and handle any patient enquiries
- Deal with visitors, and chaperone appointments where required
- Liaise with local pharmacies and the practice pharmacists/pharmacy technicians when required
- Sorting deliveries, dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- Complete routine daily tasks
- Commit to learning and development, keep up to date with all mandatory training and support the learning and development of others
- Reasonable ad-hoc jobs on request from accountable persons and management

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 apprenticeship standard:
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required
End Point Assessment:
- Presentation; Practical Observation; Professional Discussion
