What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Managing existing HR records and maintaining accurate and up to date employee data on the HRIS (currently Personio). Producing reports as required
  • Uploading files and documents on to the HRIS including: Payslips, Performance Reviews, Probation forms, Fit Notes
  • Administering the documentation in support of new joiners including producing new joiner paperwork and carrying out reference checking
  • Administering the documentation in support of the annual HR processes (Appraisal, Objective Setting, Salary Review, Bonus)
  • Supporting the HR Manager with recruitment through uploading ad’s onto the Career Page, Indeed and any other identified platforms. Support the HR Coordinator in monitoring the careers inbox
  • Provide administrative support to other HR activities e.g. recruitment, induction, training, benefits, absence management.
  • Logging sickness, and ensuring sickness records are closed by employees and escalating any sickness cases to the HR Managers
  • Monitor the HR inbox responding or escalating as appropriate
  • Support with the coordination of lunch and learns
  • Holiday cover for Coordinator
  • Supporting on HR Projects as and when required
  • Ensuring good standards of data quality and protection are adhered to at all times
  • Act as a first line responder for basic employee queries / requests and escalating to the HR managers as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprentice will be working towards the HR Support Level 3 apprenticeship standard
  • Qualifications include: CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice
  • College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute (Colchester Campus) once per month

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Development within the HR Team. Taking on additional HR duties e.g. more involvement with recruitment such as screening candidates, interviewing for junior roles.

Things to consider

The role will be based in our Marks Tey office but will involve travel to our other offices (Sudbury, Halstead, Tiptree, Braintree, Coggeshall) e.g. for inductions and you should therefore have a driving licence and access to a car.
