Our customer base has increased, meaning that our business is in need of another office- based person to support our staff in the office. The role will include receptionist duties, job sheet creation, the issue of invoices, ordering parts, contacting customers to remind them of appointments or MOT due dates, filing, data entry and other tasks.

The wage will be at least the minimum apprenticeship value (£5.28 per hour, as of April 2023). However, depending on the candidate, an additional amount may also be considered. The wage is negotiable for the right candidate.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Main duties will include:
- Data entry using Excel and Kashflow accounting software
- Use of Microsoft Word and workshop invoice/ job sheet software
- Use of the telephone to order parts from suppliers
- Answering calls from customers to book in
- Receiving customers' vehicles into the garage
- Receiving payments via a card machine when cars are collected or over the phone
- Day to day contact with other members of staff, suppliers and customers
The apprentice will work alongside the office manager to shadow her to learn the basics, this will allow for a full day's cover for customers to contact the business.
The apprentice will be based in the office where customers are received, so applicants will be expected to gain confidence when greeting customers.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
- Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 1 Functional Skills in English
- Level 1 Functional Skills in maths
Apprentices will also work towards and take the test for Level 2 English and maths prior to taking the End Point Assessment.
For the End Point Assessment, apprentices will undertake an apprentice showcase, a practical observation, and a professional discussion.
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship programme, apprentices will be able to join the Institute of Customer Service as an individual member at professional level.
Apprentices will be expected to attend college once a week (term- time only) at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The apprentice will gain further responsibilities once they have successfully completed the apprenticeship. This is a new, additional role in the business so progression can be discussed at a later time.
