What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprentice will be expected to assist the accountants, VAT managers and payroll managers.
Their duties will include:
- Managing telephones
- Greeting clients
- Preparing letters
- Scanning
- VAT
- Payroll
- Bookkeeping
- General office administration
The apprentice will receive full training in our commercial payroll and bookkeeping software.

Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship standard:
Apprentices will be required to take one of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role:
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
- ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2)
- IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
- ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
This apprenticeship requires you to attend college 1 day a week. You will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion and observation throughout your training.
Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and taken the test for level 2 prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is entry Level 3.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Progression to level 3 and 4 AAT.
