What will the apprentice be doing?

At Dovehaven, we are a family run care group providing quality residential and nursing care for the elderly.

Working for Dovehaven Care Group is a rewarding experience, you will build relationships with those in your care and see them thrive in a caring and friendly environment.

As a care assistant, you will work together with other staff in the running of the home. You will aim to maintain high standards of care and service towards service users, relatives, visitors and other members of staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
  • Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
  • Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
  • Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
  • Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
  • Maintain accurate records for each resident

To succeed in this role you must be:

  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the home
  • Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Dovehaven will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. If successful, you will complete a Level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeship programme, delivered through Dovehaven’s dedicated training provider, Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.
