    Salary included above is for the first 12 months whilst in programme, after month 12 this programmes salary increases to £14,740. You will be eligible for a company wide bonus based on how we are performing as a business, and other flexible benefits.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Order processing - Using the telephone and IT systems to input orders from customers
  • Regular communication with other areas of our business such as the Transport and Operations Teams to understand any issues affecting orders
  • Dealing with queries affecting customer orders. Your role would be to keep customers aware and informed

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship. 
Successful competition will result in: Level 3 (A Level equivalent) qualification in Customer Services. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successful completion of apprenticeship, you will be given the opportunity to move into a full-time position as a Customer Service Coordinator.  
Future progression opportunities in Tarmac are widely available with experience and include roles such as: Key Account Manager, Logistics Planner and Customer Service Supervisor.

Things to consider

The role will involve working within an office with a team of people, so communication skills are important and the ability to build rapport. The learning process will involve visiting Tarmac operational sites, so being mobile is important.
