What will the apprentice be doing?
Learners will be placed in one of four sales areas; Defence, Government, Private Sector and Asset Management, and will have exposure to the other sales areas plus a six-week rotation through two support areas; Marketing and Bid Team to gain an all-round understanding of how the business operates.
- Additional workplace development will be provided via a varied internal and external programme, with training initiatives covering Ci services and products, sector specific insight, the full sales cycle and Ci processes.
- Soft skill training including communication skills, confidence building, critical thinking, problem solving and speaking confidently will also be provided.
- A unique element of the programme will be direct exposure and interaction with our Chief Executive Office and Chairman, via a project based approach and an entrepreneurial ‘Dragons Den’ programme and competition.
- HR will facilitate the programme and expert coaching and mentoring will be available throughout the duration of the programme.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Learners will achieve a nationally recognised sales qualification in Level 3 Technical Sales Diploma, awarded by British Computer Society (BCS).
The programme covers areas integral to the success and further development of IT Technical Sales professionals today, such as
- Enhancing your core skills, knowledge and behaviours
- Assessing and qualifying sales leads, Database and campaign management
- Customer experience and technical solutions
- Solution focused communication
- Negotiating and closing sales
- Future planning and mapping accounts
80% of learning will be achieved on the job with the remainder being achieved through virtual training sessions (and face-to-face where permissible) delivered by the provider. Each session will last between 1 - 1.5 hours.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of the programme, learners will have the opportunity to take a full-time position with the business in their preferred business unit. Further salary/learning enhancements may be awarded upon reaching key milestones, linked with the apprenticeship and performance.
