What will the apprentice be doing?
• Ensuring all written inbound orders, including web orders, faxes and emails are processed in accordance with their requested delivery dates. • processing tasks to meet daily deadlines. • Using bespoke automated software to process inbound orders from our website that can be fulfilled from Comms Express’ own stock up to despatch. • Organising both direct and inbound deliveries through Comms Express’ extensive network of suppliers to complete orders that cannot be fulfilled from stock ensuring every PO is checked at supplier to ensure stock availability and discounts on cost of goods and/or carriage • Processing e-mailed, postal and faxed orders in good time (usually the same business day by 5.30pm) • Coordinating delivery dates for any processed order. • Providing first in line support on all incoming Processing order calls, this includes orders being placed, pre-sales assistance and order query. • Providing telephone support where necessary – Calls will often include orders to be placed and pre-sales assistance (both product and administratively oriented) and quote generation. • Providing sales support to customers who have contacted you individually, delegating to sales team where necessary. • Working successfully with other departments where necessary to ensure successful order processing and sales work, whilst prioritising customer experience. • Identifying and implementing sales techniques across the department which can be implemented to improve all areas of selling; proactive and reactive work, effective communication, negotiating, listening and increasing overall value of opportunities. • Focusing on project work, with a real aim on larger enquiries which require a higher level of input and time. • Keeping up to date with the continually developing marketplace, where Comms Express fits in, and how we can capitalise on new revenue streams • Analysing sales figures as necessary • Quoting with a view to closing quicker and upselling to offer better value to the customer or an up sell for the company. • Contributing to gaining and improving Comms Express Ltd accreditation with relevant vendors, including passing industry recognised exams and managing partnerships with certain vendors. • Construct and deliver pro-active projects to encourage relevant areas of the marketplace to see Comms Express as a trusted advisor and develop new opportunities. • Preparing sales reports for senior management as required. • Attending and participating actively in inter departmental meetings to share ideas as and when required. • Back up cover for all the department for holidays.
