What will the apprentice be doing?
What’s in it for you?
- Knowledge development via a mix of skills workshops, self-guided study and on-the-job training.
- Hands-on experience, mentored by industry specialists.
- Skills-based, industry recognised qualifications including Certificate Level CII and Insurance Practitioner or Business Administration Level 3, earning financial incentives as you progress.
- You will be with us as a permanent employee from day one.
The programme is non-rotational, which means you will be assigned to one of our specialist business units. This will be determined as you progress through our assessment process.
The pathway you’ll be on with us will be in one of the following two areas:
Insurance or Reinsurance Client Service and Broking.
Typical role responsibilities within this area might include:
- Working in support of Account Managers to aid in the overall service provision to clients ensuring that the business is retained and developed.
- Understanding a client’s risk profile, business needs and exposures.
- Interaction with underwriters and providing day-to day support to Placing Brokers.
- Proving technical and administrative support in the servicing and processing of insurance business.
- Working alongside the new business development producers in prospect identification and winning.
Insurance or Reinsurance Technical and Divisional Support.
Typical role responsibilities within this area might include:
- Project management i.e. provision of key insights, research and business analytics to clients, prospective clients and within the business, to aid and inform decision making.
- Developing claims handling skills and responsibilities.
- Technical processing, incorporating Broker Support, Processing, Treaty, Excess of Loss, Claims and IBA functions.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will work towards your:
- Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII).
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This is a permanent position from day one. Continued professional development and expanded responsibility including more complex work as career progresses. Scope to continue study of professional qualifications at a more advanced level.
