This is one of two newly created apprentice roles at Powertest and will provide a broad range of hands-on training in all aspects of Business Administration. The role will give first hand exposure to the running of an established and successful business including operations, service delivery, commercial and finance.

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    The candidates working pattern will be Monday-Friday working 8am - 5pm and will be released fortnightly to Riverside college to work towards their qualification. Holiday entitlement is 26 days plus bank holidays and free onsite parking.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

Answering telephone  
Dealing with customer queries 
General liaison with customers  
Handling general email correspondence 
Booking hotels for mobile engineers 
Booking ferries and trains 
Assisting with Processing of weekly timesheets 
Assisting with Calculation of bonus, overtime and sickness 
Arranging plant hire 
Retrieving and uploading of Engineer Reports 
Updating Planning Schedules 
Ordering Stock  
Assisting with General filing and administration duties 
Arranging meetings and organising meeting rooms 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The chosen candidate will be working towards a Level 2 Customer Service qualification. Their contracted hours are 37.5 hours per week with Powertest LTD and will be released for 6 hours fortnightly to Riverside College where they will work towards their qualification. Both locations are in Widnes.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possibility of permanent position on completion of apprenticeship.

Services include Portable Appliance Testing, Fixed Wire Testing, Emergency Light Testing and Fire Alarm Maintenance. The business employs approximately 20 mobile engineers throughout the UK, administered from the Head Office in Widnes.
