Apprentice Barber/Stylist The Mens Room Lancaster

As an Apprentice Barber/Stylist your role will be to shadow and assist qualified, experienced barbers throughout their busy work day. You will gain on-site knowledge and experience as well as visual learning to aid your own career in the barber industry. You will start cutting hair while supervised by an experienced barber.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To provide a polite and professional service to clients at all times.
  • To provide the first point of contact for clients acknowledge each client when entering and leaving the shop
  • Dealing with clients queries in a courteous and helpful manner
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness of the shop to a high standard including sweeping the floor and regularly cleaning and polishing the shop
  • To be responsible for ensuring all workstations and equipment is maintained (where necessary) and mirrors are cleaned for each member of the team
  • To observe The Mens Room team with their clients, observing their skill, interaction with clients and the techniques used
  • To utilise the till and be responsible for ensuring there is enough change in the till for the team
  • To undertake any other duties that are deemed relevant for the purpose of the post
  • To assist in the smooth running of the shop by running errands including getting change for float, assisting with the cash and carry run
  • To monitor stock control on all products, drinks and other consumables ( till rolls, cleaning products, hand wash)
  • To meet all targets set by the training provider to a high standard within the given timeframe
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all paperwork relating to the qualification is completed in a timely manner

  • Training to take place through Kendal College and the workplace
