What will the apprentice be doing?

Some of the specific tasks and duties to include:

  • To deal with all aspects of incoming post – including opening mail, distributing mail to the relevant areas & logging return items in line with specific customer requirements
  • To deal with returned parcels from our couriers – including ensuring it is logged accurately and distributed to the right Team/Colleague.
  • To monitor all courier query notifications received in via email and to distribute to the right Team/Colleague if required. 
  • To co-ordinate sending Customer Service related mail out to customers each day that is sent via Royal Mail – includes using an in-house developed system to ensure items are sent via the right service. 
  • Monitoring stock of post stationery to ensure relevant supplies are held and when replenishments are required liaise with the relevant Team in a timely manner.
  • To provide an accurate and timely filing service to the Team – including daily filing, purging files, matching printed samples back to jobs etc.
  • To ensure customer orders are sent to our Production area at our Runcorn site on a daily basis.  This will require logging the detail accurately and collating a daily job bag to be sent via our Courier. 
  • To assist the Customer Service & Marketing Teams in ensuring our order processing system, and customer databases, are accurate and up to date.
  • To assist the Customer Service Teams with processing sales orders via our Customer SOP systems. 
  • To assist the Customer Service Team with our Scanner Ordering & Scanner Maintenance program - including processing customer orders, updating our internal Scanner Management System, arranging collection of Scanners back to us etc. 
  • To offer assistance with manning the phones at busy period by taking general incoming calls in to the Business and directing them to the appropriate person or Team. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We would continue with employment for the candidate once the Apprenticeship has been completed successfully.  This will be a relevant Full Time role based on the skills and experience gained by the candidate.

Within our Customer Service area we have a team of 14 staff. The Team is made up of different areas of focus and include Key Accounts, Proactive Customer Contact and Customer Service.
