What will the apprentice be doing?

A Level 2 Nursery Assistant Apprentice is a rewarding position that requires you to engage with children on an individual level while still supervising the rest of the classroom.

Duties will include:

  • Planning and supervising fun and educational activities
  • Managing a daily schedule that includes activities, toilet breaks, lunch and rest time
  • Observing children and taking notes of any problematic behaviour
  • Feeding and changing babies
  • Communicating with parents and staff members
  • Ensuring the safety of children
  • Helping children learn numeracy and language through daily activities
  • Care routines for children
  • Key person for a group of children
  • Keeping the play room clean and tidy
  • Assessments and report writing for key children
  • Safeguarding children, keeping them safe

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Daisies Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

If successful, you will complete a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship programme, which includes a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification delivered through Dasies Nursery dedicated training provider, Realise.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
