What will the apprentice be doing?

If you are eager to build a career in L&D, we are offering you the opportunity to complete a Learning & Development Practitioner apprenticeship Level 3 whilst gaining valuable experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic business servicing some of the world’s largest Financial Services organisations.

You will gain:

  • Extensive coaching in all aspects of digital learning design and development

Day to day you will be: 

  • Assisting in the creation of digital learning materials
  • Updating existing materials in line with Subject Matter Expert (SME) feedback
  • LMS Administration including uploading courses, generating reports and troubleshooting
  • Responding to queries raised via the L&D Support mailbox
  • Conducting technical testing and quality assurance of learning materials
  • Maintaining Version Control documentation
  • Generating and monitoring evaluation data
  • Sourcing digital assets such as images, illustrations and iconography

Focus is more on the mandatory knowledge units at the start of the course to ensure the learners are able to update their Learning Journal, the focus on the skills and look more closely at behaviours towards the end of the course – though this would of course be refined around your needs.  We would be aiming to use a combination of group sessions and one-to-one depending on availability and need.

End-Point Assessment (EPA) is based on a Learning Journal, updated throughout the standard, and a project that is submitted and written as part of the EPA.  This means that delivery will only take 15 months, but the assessment can take up to 3.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the apprenticeship, you have the opportunity to become a permanent, full-time employee of SS&C. At this point the salary will also be reviewed.

Working with SS&C will open opportunities for career growth both within the L&D team and throughout the rest of the organisation.
