What will the apprentice be doing?
This is a role where you will gain the foundation knowledge to learn a range of skills to support you in your level 3 qualification.
You will be part of the team supporting the HR function across a group of companies. Site, what you do matters and working with guidance from your mentor you are part of the foundation of our business.
Our company designs and manufactures a range of architectural metalwork that you will see across London. There are many innovative projects including bridges, stairs and super balconies amongst a few. We are proud of history and excited about our future.
- Provide administrative support (including, but not limited to; processing paperwork, filing, dealing with mail, creating reports, gathering information, ordering IT equipment, making bookings, arranging meetings etc for all elements of our people processes.
- To provide administration support for all HR matters to a high-quality standard and within agreed timescales.
- To provide administrative support for the recruitment process from start to finish.
- To process letters, forms, and reports in a timely manner.
- To support managers with basic queries on policies and processes.
- Identify and prioritise own workload to ensure that objectives are met.
- To attend meetings as note taker as required and to type up any meeting notes as required.
- Ensure that the HR information on the HR systems is accurately maintained.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure that letters or forms do not breach data protection legislation.
- Ensure all internal HR processes and procedures are adhered to.
- To undertake a Level 3 HR Apprenticeship and apply learnings and best practice to the role.
- Undertake any other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department consistent with the nature of the post.
- A mentor will be assigned, although you will be working directly with the Head of HR.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The Apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship Standard.
- College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute - Colchester Campus one day per week during term time.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Potential to progress in the HR support function as the business grows and expands. The Head of HR supports a group of 4 companies and the company ethos is to promote from within, where we can.
