We are looking to take on a reliable person who is willing to learn and apply their skills to the working day, and working as part of a friendly team. Duties include picking and packing products, wrapping products to ensure safe shipping, checking the loads against delivery notes, loading and unloading container lorries, general warehouse duties.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Ensuring goods are loaded and unloaded and match the relevant paperwork
  • Responsible for the company's freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work
  • Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
  • Reporting damaged or missing goods
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
  • Following Health & Safety rules when handling goods
  • Adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
  • Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The candidate will complete a BTEC Level 2 in Supply Chain Warehouse. It will include an End Point Assessment may also include Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT.

This will be delivered by Weir Training Limited.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The right candidate will be able to progress through the company, potentially becoming Supervisor or Warehouse Manager in time.
