What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assisting in the provision of client needs, including bathing, toileting, feeding and personal grooming
  • Actively participating in a programme of activities as directed by the Senior Carer that aims to stimulate emotionally and physically, whilst working with colleagues as part of a team and to ensure a safe and welcoming environment at the Centre
  • Acting as a transport escort to assist the driver with customer safety, including securing of wheelchair clamps, safety belts and customer safe entry and exit from the vehicle and into their homes
  • Monitoring clients whilst liaising with the Senior Carer in order to ensure that individual goal plans can be appropriately developed and modified as necessary, ensuring best practice at all times
  • Carrying out the necessary duties to ensure the Centre remains clean and safe at all times. This includes the care of linen and activity areas

     

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Our apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to learn about all aspects of adult social care, including how to provide outstanding care and compassionate support to create a brighter, more independent future for the older generation, vulnerable adults and those living with dementia

By the end of your 14 month apprenticeship with us you will gain:

  • Level 2 adult social care qualification 
  • Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in both maths and English (if you do not already have equivalent qualifications in these subjects when you commence your apprenticeship)
  • Time within your working week to focus on your coursework
  • A support network of experienced carers for you to work alongside and learn essential care skills from
  • A Care Assessor/Tutor from T2 Training, who will support and encourage your progression throughout

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Opportunity for a long term career in adult social care with us; you will be able to apply for a qualified Carers role upon completion of your apprenticeship
