    £5 per hour for the first 12 weeks, £1 per hour more than minimum wage after 12 weeks.

  • Working week

    Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5pm, Fridays - 8:45am to 4pm. Lunch Break - 12:30pm to 1:15pm each day.

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be working as part of the team to complete any related tasks whilst learning the required skills to be successful in this field. Duties include:

  • Deal with client requests for information.
  • Prepare payroll services to clients and ensure submissions are made on time to HMRC using payroll software.
  • Prepare clients' VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
  • Prepare accounts working papers for clients and enter data into accountancy software.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post and emails.
  • Archiving of post and emails.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the office to enable deadlines to be met for clients in the accountancy practice.
  • Enter purchase and sales invoices onto the firm’s accounting software.
  • Deal with telephone calls and passing on messages to colleagues.
  • Prepare letter and sale invoices to clients.
  • Assist with reordering of office supplies.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant at Stockton Riverside College.
  • Functional Skills Maths & English, if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

An opportunity for a full-time position at the end of the apprenticeship.
