What will the apprentice be doing?

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who would like to expand their knowledge in the beauty industry. 

Whilst in the salon, your duties will include the following responsibilities (although won't be limited to):

  • You will be required to carry out level 2 beauty therapy treatments to an excellent standard
  • Giving facials and massages
  • Make-up advice and application techniques
  • Hand, foot and nail treatments
  • Eyebrow and eyelash treatments
  • Body hair removal techniques
  • Make appointments
  • Serve drinks and refreshments
  • Salon cleaning
  • Reception duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapy Standard
  • Functional skills in maths and English if required

Things to consider

Applicants must have a realistic idea of what it is like to work as an apprentice in the beauty industry and must be willing to help out with the less glamorous tasks such as cleaning. There will be some long periods of activity with little rest. Applicants also need to ensure that they are willing to work Saturdays and at least one late evening before applying for the position as this is a requirement when working in the beauty industry.
