What will the apprentice be doing?
Working within Keltbray’s Highways Business Unit, and supporting the leadership team, the apprentice plays an integral part in providing a comprehensive administrative service.
The position carries the highest expectation of confidentiality and requires the ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and independence. Reporting to the Assistant to the Directors, core responsibilities include Project Support, Business Unit Support and QESH.
Project Support
Duties to include:
· Organising job start up packs for new projects, ensuring the latest documentation has been compiled in preparation for the commencement of works and breaking down job packs returned from site for when works have completed.
· Printing to scale using the plotter and distributing drawings and programmes to site teams.
· Monitoring the weekly plant returns system online week by week, sending out reminder emails to colleagues as needed and submitting information for the division
Business Unit Support
Duties to include:
· Greeting new starter employees to the business when advised by their manager or a director, introducing them to the online systems and adding their details to group email mailing lists.
· Developing template documents in line with branding requirements, where needed for the Division’s operations.
· Daily collection and distribution of the post.
QESH
Duties to include:
· Raising queries to enable timely closure of ‘areas for improvement’ and ’non-conformance’ records to meet the KPI target and meet with the Quality Manager monthly for guidance on the closure or investigation of records raised.
· Taking responsibility, with training if needed, as the Fire Warden for the area, undertaking duties during a fire drill.
· Supporting the Health & Safety Manager by collating monthly QESH data and preparing an initial draft of the monthly QESH presentation update.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Business Admin
- Ixion Holdings will provide the delivery of the Business Admin Level 3 standard.
- Ixion Holdings will also provide functional English and Maths qualifications if required.
Our training is currently offering a blended delivery - some face to face, MS Teams calls, webinars, group sessions, and observations. Where appropriate risk assessments have been completed to ensure it’s a safe environment for all.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The apprentice will have the potential to gain full-time employment on completion of the standard.
