Key Responsibilities of the Apprentice: Assisting the chefs in the production, preparation, and delivery of foods and service to the members of the club. As the apprentice develops, they will also be given the opportunity to create and cost their own specials, and may also assist in ordering and stock taking.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main purpose of job:

To prepare and maintain the kitchen for service and provide attentive and proficient service of food to the customers in a safe and hygienic manner at all times

Duties & Responsibilities of Apprentice Chef:

To report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and behaviour at all times.
To maintain a high standard of food preparation and service of food.
To thoroughly familiarise yourself with all current menus & forth coming promotions, menu changes and specials.
To report to the management any incidents, accidents, wastage, breakages, and defective equipment or any other irregularities.
To maintain a positive and efficient professional relationship with fellow colleagues.
To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen by following the cleaning schedules. Please note that the cleaning schedule checklist MUST be checked and signed off at the end of your shift by the head or sous chef before you leave the kitchen.
Adhere to the Henbury Golf Club Fire Plan and Health & Safety Policy.
To attend department and general staff meetings.
To attend training sessions as judged reasonably necessary by the management.
To abide by staff rules at all times.
To carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested by a manager.
To maintain a high level of communication with fellow staff especially in regards to section handovers and leaving comprehensive prep lists for the chef the following day.
To have a good knowledge of our food safety management system, H.A.C.C.P. and C.O.S.H.H. and adhering to these systems at all times
Putting away deliveries ensuring all stock rotation has been done properly and all food has been put away in accordance to food safety legislation.
To be able to work reasonable hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
You must inform the Head chef of any days off at least one week prior to the rota being up, and any holiday requests in accordance to the  house rules and contracts.
