What will the apprentice be doing?
* Work with mechanical and electrical equipment as well as
automated control systems, carry out planned and preventative
maintenance, undertake fault finding and diagnosis.
* Championing continuous improvement through involvement in our
pladis Excellence programme, reducing downtime and improving
operational efficiency.
* Ensuring all activities are undertaken safely and in line with food
safety standards and legislative requirements.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
pladis apprentices attend James Watt Campus, Birmingham Metropolitan College, on a block release programme undertaking a City & Guilds L3 Diploma in Food & Drink Maintenance.
Apprentices then embed their mechanical, electrical, fluid power and automation skills at site with our experienced multi-skilled engineers.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful apprentices shall progress into permanent Engineering Technician roles.
