    This position is term time only and you will be required to work 38 weeks of the year (plus 5 inset days) The salary will be paid monthly, on a pro rata basis. The annual salary for this position will, therefore, start at £6,529.58 and not £7,503.60.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Working alongside teachers & support staff, you will assist with:

  • Routine tasks to support learning, curriculum & events
  • An individual pupil, or a small group of pupils, some of whom may have Special Educational Needs
  • Looking after sick/upset pupils & attending to physical needs
  • Routine tasks to support lessons
  • Maintaining basic records
  • Ensuring the aims & objectives of the school are achieved
  • Implementing Government initiatives under the direction of the teacher

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This programme, other than the requirement of some college attendance to support the end point assessment process, will be primarily focused on your workplace training and learning.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Whilst we cannot guarantee a permanent role once qualified, you will have the opportunity of a reference from an ‘Outstanding’ primary school which would assist you in applying for other positions within the education sector.

Things to consider

You will spend periods of time ‘on your feet’ & the job is in a location where transport needs to be considered. You will be a valued member of the team & will be offered First Aid training. You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check & complete a health questionnaire.
