You will gain a wealth of experience cooking high quality homemade food to order using fresh ingredients. You will liaise with the Head Chef to suggest and experiment with seasonal new dishes for the menu.

What will the apprentice be doing?
· Cooking fresh homemade food

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend York College on a day release basis and receive training in the workplace the rest of the time.
You will gain knowledge of food safety, and assist in the preparation, cooking and finishing of a range of menu items. Attention to detail, understanding the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment are key, as well as assisting in the opening and close down of the kitchen under the direction of a more senior member of the team.
The qualification you will receive at the end of the apprenticeship is Production Chef Apprenticeship level 2.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
A full-time, ongoing position may be available upon completion of the apprenticeship.
