What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily Duties:

  • Carry out allocated or routine activities to provide information for the Inclusion and Corporate Development Team Manager and team members to support decision making.
  • Follow step by step instructions that detail the actions to be taken and provide a process map for designated activities.
  • Arrange learning events or meetings as required and prepare paperwork such as attendee packs and pre-course information in advance for attendees. Take notes as required and prepare final versions for circulation. 
  • Provide support for identified projects and undertake specific tasks to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide telephone answering service including taking simple accurate messages in accordance with procedures.
  • Undertake the administrative of team files to improve filing and retrieval of documents in compliance with legislation such as GDPR and employment.
  • Support the team with effective information and administrative systems proposing changes to processes to the manager and helping implement new ways of working.
  • To operate standard computer applications to produce well-presented and accurately typed letters, reports, and documents making use of all facilities.
  • To input information contained on appropriate documentation and transfer data to computer-based records and to amend and update as required.
  • To carry out general office duties as required, including duties associated with the processing of mail, photocopying, etc.
  • To maintain accurate filing system to ensure ease of retrieval in accordance with procedures.
  • To compile and maintain relevant evidence in support of achieving the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship within the timescales for the level of study.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Attendance of 2 workshops a month for the first 6 months.
  • Assessor visits to the workplace once the workshops have finished to prepare you for your End Point Assessment.
  • If you have not already achieved a C/4 + in both maths and English (or equivalent) and cannot provide evidence in the form of a certificate, you will also need to achieve Functional skills at Level 2, in both Numeracy and Literacy. This will include sitting an exam.
  • You will be given 20% of your working week dedicated to your apprentice study, or Off the Job Training, to carry out self-supported study, compiling your portfolio or completing work set by your assessor.
  • End point assessment to achieve your final apprenticeship grade.
  • On the job training and coaching by line manager and NHS England training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
