What will the apprentice be doing?
Reporting to the Finance Technician Supervisor, the post holder will:
- Deal accurately with all incoming and outgoing post into the department
- Finance Invoices Mail – dealing with internal and external emails
- Scan various documents received onto Scanfile as requested by the Finance Technicians Supervisor & Technicians
- Monitor departmental stationery and office supplies
- Produce and dispatch the daily letter mailings
- Deal positively and accurately with oral and written enquiries from colleagues
- Process relevant database cleansing and updating
- Authorise all BACS invoices to members
- Set up new suppliers and run D&B reports in line with the Finance policies and raise any concerns surrounding these with the Finance Technician Supervisor
- Set up new corporate schemes as requested and process any amendments
- Adhoc admin duties as requested by the Finance Technicians Supervisor & Technicians when required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend York College on a day release basis, where you will work towards developing knowledge, skills and behaviours. At work you will consolidate the on-programme learning with the support of the employer. An assessor will visit every 8-10 weeks to discuss and monitor progress on the apprenticeship in conjunction with the employer.
At college you will study skills in the use of multiple IT packages and systems in order to write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes and record and analyse data.
At the end of the apprenticeship, the qualification awarded is Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3.
