What will the apprentice be doing?
Main Duties / Core Responsibilities:
- Trained to perform UKAS Testing
- Perform Extrusion and Conversion Quality Audits. To cover all areas over a weekly cycle, see attached copy schedule and requirements
- Merchant Goods Inward Inspection on a frequency as advised by Procurement dept
- Drop Tests to CHSA and NHS standards as dictated by works order requirements, usually daily
- Calibration of shop floor and laboratory equipment following laid down procedures and current equipment list
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.
Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard
A mixture of face to face and remote visits every 4 - 6 weeks
On the job training with a designated mentor.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Full time position with company. Progression on to higher apprenticeship in quality.
