What will the apprentice be doing?

As an apprentice at AAB, you will be learning your profession from people with a great deal of experience and expertise in business, finance and technology.

  • You will support our clients with all aspects of UK domestic PAYE and National Insurance payments that employees (and their employers) have to pay to HM Revenue & Customs. This includes employer compliance and interactions with HMRC as well as PAYE and payroll health check reviews.
  • Our Global Mobility Tax team, provide services to clients with internationally mobile employees. This can lead to global compliance and tax implications for both the employee and the employer to consider. You will be involved in the end to end process with these clients from advising them on their requirements, to day to day delivery of wider compliance processes.
  • It is important that you are a good communicator as well as being good with numbers, so that as you develop as a Tax Advisor, you are comfortable with liaising with clients to advise on all of issues arising from employing a global workforce along with delivering awesome client service.

Successful candidates will be given a generous professional study package, allowing them to study towards a qualification with the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) and also gain further qualifications as their career progresses.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Level 4 - ATT qualification. 

The ATT syllabus follows a modular structure, which consists of two core certificate papers and four optional certificate papers, allowing you to specialise in your own area of interest or expertise.

To apply for full ATT membership, you must pass the two core papers, one of the four optional papers and the three computer-based exams (Law, Professional Responsibilities & Ethics and Accounting), plus have two years of practical work experience in UK taxation.

An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.
