What will the apprentice be doing?

Working closely alongside and providing assistance to experienced tradespersons in carrying out the following:
• Manual handling of tools and materials.
• Working from drawings.
• Level surveying.
• Brick and blockwork.
• Foundations.
• Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprentice will be working towards the Bricklayer Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
  • All delivered within the work place via online training and at Colchester Institute Campus.

Colne Valley Contracts are a family run business with over 30 years experience in the construction industry, working across the commercial, leisure, industrial and residential sectors. We undertake all aspects of general building and groundworks, including but not limited to brickwork, paving, drainage and fencing. We carry out a wide scope of refurbishment works, from domestic bathrooms to reconfiguring office layouts to refurbishing entire leisure centres. We also specialise in floor and wall tiling. We carry out works nationwide, but predominantly focus close to our base of London and the South East.
