What will the apprentice be doing?

A normal day would include:

• Post room duties ensuring all post is dispatched each day; using franking machine and also courier DX post, making sure all is dispatched on time
• Photocopying & scanning for fee earners and secretaries, as necessary: photocopying and scanning documents in to case management in order to keep up to date records
• General filing, as necessary: assisting secretaries with filing of correspondence on to individual client files
• Reception cover: Answering telephone, take detailed messages and transfer calls to appropriate fee earner/secretary or voicemail, greeting clients in reception
• Booking appointments in central diary
• Occasional typing. – word documents in to o0ur case management system.
• Keeping reception tidy & leaflets up to date
• Copying Legal Aid bills for accounts department and file copies
• Updating & Maintaining stocks of Mental health Files and Legal Aid forms – keeping sufficient amount of files and checking latest addition of Legal Aid form inserted
• Opening files – using Quill Accounts program to open files in the database, checking for potential conflicts of parties.
• Dead filing – archiving closed files, updating Excel database and spread sheet
• Inputting time recorded – via Quill in accordance with fee earners daily time sheets.
• Maintaining Excel Spreadsheets (bills, drop in clinics, subcontractors, offsite storage etc)
