What will the apprentice be doing?

You will learn about a range of different types of existing data:

-Common sources of data - internal, external, open data sets, public and private.
-Data formats and their importance for analysis.
-Data architecture - the framework against which data is stored and structured including on premises and cloud.
-Different methods of validating data and the importance of taking corrective action, legal and regulatory requirements e.g. data -protection, data security, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), data sharing, personal data definition.
-The ethical use of data.

Whilst completing your apprenticeship you will gain experience by assisting with managing our programmes databases and providing support to the Strategic Data and Impact Manager on database development.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Work towards the level 3 Data technician apprenticeship standard.

Formal training with our training provider delivered at our site will support theory and completion of Functional skills in maths, English and ICT (if needed) as well as the Data Technician vocational qualification.
