Glen Parva Dental practice is pleased to announce they have a vacancy to join their team as a trainee dental nurse at their small and well-established practice. The practice is looking to expand the business and you will form a key role in this vision. We are looking for a well-motivated, reliable and committed individual.

  • You will be supporting the dentist in providing clinical care, predominately working chair side
  • There is an opportunity for the right candidate to train further as an extended duty dental nurse to support dental health education and apply fluoride varnish
  • You will be expected to work as part of a team and this may require you to support other team members when needed.

Desired skills

As you will be responsible for working directly with our patients and the upkeep of their records, it is essential that you are IT literate with strong communication skills.

Personal qualities

We are seeking someone who is well presented, punctual, polite and can work well as a part of a close team. You will need to self-motivated and possess the energy and enthusiasm to complete all aspects of the job role and the apprenticeship course

Qualifications required

GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

It is essential that you maintain a high level of professionalism throughout all aspects of working in the practice. The standard opening hours for the practice are 9am to 6.30pm (Mon/Wed) 9am to 2pm (Tues) 9am to 6pm (Thurs) 9am to 5pm (Fri) *Your 30 hour working week will be within these opening times on agreement with the employer Lunch time – 1pm to 1.45pm In addition to this, we also at other times for our private patients which may include evenings and occasional Saturdays. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Hep B Vaccination and a DBS check Enrolment onto the Oral Health Advanced Apprenticeship at Leicester College is a mandatory requirement for this position.       Interview date and possible start date are only a guideline. Interviews for this position could be arranged at any time after the closing date therefore the start date could alter. We provide a wide range of general dental procedures to our well established, long term clients. We currently employ 5 staff including 2 dentists, but are looking at opportunities to grow and expand the practice

Training provider

The advanced apprenticeship programme will require you to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. This is a 15 unit programme of which 11 units are portfolio based and assessed in the workplace. The remaining 4 units are theory based and delivered via eLearning. The Apprentice may also be offered additional support to complete key skills if you haven't achieved a level 2 qualification in both Maths and English within the past 5 years.

Alongside the structured training programme offered through the apprenticeship, Parkview Dental Practice will also provide you with a full induction programme and continuous mentoring and support from our experienced and qualified staff.
