We are currently looking for a Painting & Decorating Apprentice to work on a construction site in Kent.  You will have an interest in working in the construction industry and be keen to learn the trade of painting and decorating. You will enjoy practical hard work. As a TrAC SAS Apprentice you will be working towards a L2 NVQ in Painting & Decorating. This will be college and site based learning.

Most of our apprenticeships take 2 years to complete at Level 2, therefore you will be on a 2 year fixed contract. During the two year Apprenticeship you would complete an NVQ and Diploma. After completing the Level 2 Apprenticeship you may be given the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification for a further year.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in becoming a painter and decorator and will be keen to work hard both on site and at college to learn the trade.  Excellent timekeeping and attendance are required.  Whilst it is not essential for the apprentice to drive, they will need to be able to get to site for an early start each morning.  Attendance at college will also be required on a day release basis and is an integral part of the apprenticeship.

Personal qualities

You should enjoy working with people and as part of a team.  You will be hardworking, dedicated and committed to getting a painting and decorating qualification.  You will also be able to understand and follow clear instructions and demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will have confidence and good problem solving skills.

Qualifications required

There are no formal requirements although it would help to have GCSEs in English and Maths at A-C (or equivalent).  The successful candidate will be required to take and pass the CSCS test as a condition of any offer of employment.

Future prospects

  • An apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and experience you need to apply for a job in the area you have trained in.
  • We will give you support to progress into employment, education or further training towards the end of your apprenticeship.

Things to consider
