    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The position is to join the sales department and support the team.  In doing so you will be taught the basics of estate agency.  This will range from general canvassing, answering calls, speaking to perspective clients about what they are looking for and then aiming to give 100% customer service so that journey from initial phone call to viewing and beyond is a faultless one for the clients.  This is a service industry that responds to customer service, professionalism and honesty.

Qualifications required

Min grade C GSCE in English and Maths or equivalent.

Further NAEA qualifications can be gained in Y2 if offered a full time position

Future prospects

Once they have completed an apprenticeship they will be offered the opportunity to join the company and progress through the levels earning a good basic salary, commission and company car/allowance

Things to consider

The position will involve canvassing streets with marketing material but never in adverse weather conditions. You will be using a PC and eventually doing viewings with prospective buyers. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
