    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The successful candidate will train in all aspects of hairdressing, and they will be working alongside a team of very experienced stylists who have worked in the industry for many years.

 

The role will include:

  • Shampooing.
  • Client consultation.
  • Colouring.
  • Cutting and Creative Styling.
  • Taking payments and providing excellent customer service.
  • Booking in clients will also be part of the role.
  • General housekeeping.

Training provider

  • Full training will be provided on an on-going daily basis and when required. You will be working towards the hairdressing Level 2 apprenticeship.
  • An assessor will be allocated to you to progress and support you through your course. You will be expected to attend college one day per week on a Monday 9.30am - 4.30pm.
  • Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week.
