We are looking for a positive, hard-working apprentice with a keen interest in developing their skills as a Commis Chef.

If you have a passion for cooking and to develop a career as a professional chef then this role is for you.

The job role as an Apprentice Chef includes:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the kitchen
  • Cleaning and maintaining high food hygiene standards
  • Assisting with food preparation and food presentation
  • General kitchen duties
  • Providing high quality service to all customers

This position will give the right candidate the chance to progress right up the career ladder and we will invest a great deal of time and effort to support the best individual. In the longer term, and for the right person, this may lead to substantial opportunities for the apprentice to progress through within the sector.

Consequently we are looking for a capable and motivated individual who takes a great deal of pride in their work and demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude towards their responsibilities.

Things to consider

This role involves working evenings and weekends. Interview, closing date and possible start dates are only a guideline as interviews for this position will be held on an ongoing basis, therefore the start date could alter as the vacancy will close as soon as a successful candidate is selected. Due to location, the successful candidate will ideally live locally or have access to own transport. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
