Responsibilities of the Business Administration Apprentice:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional manner
  • Meeting and greeting visitors – answering the intercom in a professional manner, meeting visitors and directing them
  • Looking after uniform including stock checks, deliveries and stock requests
  • Replying to reference requests
  • Collating information to produce staff profiles for clients
  • Data inputting
  • Procurement of stationery
  • General office housekeeping
  • Ad-hoc administration duties

Qualifications required

Someone with ideally 5 GCSE grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.

Future prospects

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks

Things to consider

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Start with a 12-14 month Business apprenticeship, which consists of 10 days of in-centre training in combination with work-based assessment, covering:
