Full on and off job training will be provided using a joined up approach with the employer (mentor) and the training provider to include but not be inclusive of the following:
 

  • Working effectively as part of a hospitality team
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic working Environment

All aspects of successfully running the Front of House will be covered inc but not limited to:

  • Beverage preparation and service inc cocktails, wines to accompany food
  • Table service, taking food order, serving food and clearing away
  • Liaising with kitchen staff
  • Hosting, meeting and greeting

Future prospects

The apprentice will have the opportunity to progress to an advanced apprenticeship at the end of year one developing into a full time position within the business for the right candidate. 

Things to consider

Working within the hospitality industry is very rewarding and fast paced it does however involve working evenings, weekends and public holidays alongside being physically active for long periods of time.

30 hours a week which will consist of working 5 days per week between the hours of 1500 and 2300, two consecutive days off will be given each week however this may not always be the same days each week From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
