You will be responsible for learning basics of:-

  • Groundworks, including drainage, oversite and foundations.
  • Brickwork – base brickwork and blockwork and pointing.
  • Roof constructions – cut roofs, flat roofing, sky lights, Velux and all aspects of roof finishes.
  • Internal form works – stud work partitions, insulation, plaster boarding and internal wall finishes.
  • Plastering, painting and decorating, wall and floor tiling.
  • Finish Carpentry – doors, skirting boards, architrave’s and access panels.
  • Plumbing works – basic heating systems, hot and cold water systems and installing sanitary wares.

Desired skills

Work as part of a team, be polite and courteous, and well presented.

Personal qualities

Positive, motivated and punctual a good sense of humour, with a can do attitude.

Qualifications required

If applicant does not have GCSE's grade A*-D in English and Maths they will be required to take part in functional skills.

Future prospects

There is potential for a full time position being made available for the right candidate.

Things to consider

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
