General duties will include:

  • Searching for candidates on databases and job boards
  • Sitting in candidate interviews
  • Updating with dormant candidates
  • Providing quality candidates for the Recruitment Consultants
  • Liaising with industry specific candidates on a regular basis
  • Maintaining and updating candidate records.
  • Produce routine documents using Microsoft Word, Excel etc
  • Answering and directing department telephone calls
  • Inputting information onto various databases
  • Any other routine office duties appropriate to the position directed
  • Sourcing candidates and matching them to jobs

The role would suit a quick thinking individual who is looking for an entry route into recruitment.  To succeed you must be able to use your initiative and be able to use common sense to work in a fast paced, dynamic and target driven environment. The right candidate needs to be robust, outgoing and have a lively personality to succeed.

Qualifications required

No specific qualifications required but maths and English, or IT would be preferred (all C and above) Or equivalent.

Future prospects

Opportunity for Financial progression at month 6 and 12. Progression to either a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship would be made available for the right candidate on completion of Level 2. Main aim for the Employer and Candidate is to secure full time employment at the end of the apprenticeship and start progressing within the company. 93% of our candidates secure full time employment with the same employer at the end of the Apprenticeship Programme. There is real potential for this role to become a full time position, subject to satisfactory performance. It is the company’s intention to design a progression plan for the successful candidate that may result in a Recruitment Consultant position being offered.

Things to consider

Training on the Apprenticeships Program for 16 to 18 year old is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution. From the 1st October 2015 a National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices has been introduced for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The new rate will be £3.30 per hour. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. NVQ Level 2 in Recruitment, Key skills and Technical Certificate as appropriate. The employer will also provide in house training relevant to the job role.
