Duties to include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of a range of savoury and sweet food dishes under guidance of the senior chefs.
  • Delivery of food during service as part of the team under guidance of the senior chefs.
  • Compliance with food hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • To maintain high standards of cleanliness within the premises.
  • To carry out any reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen.

Things to consider

Own transport is required, there are no public transport links to the pub. The job involves working split shifts and weekend work. As a part of the application process, you may be required to undertake diagnostic assessments with City College Plymouth. Peter Tavy Inn is a charming 15th century pub on the western flanks of Dartmoor. It is situated in the village of Peter Tavy which is a mile off the A386 two miles north of Tavistock on the Okehampton Road. The pub has 80 covers over two rooms and is known for its good quality home-made food.

Training provider

All training to be provided by City College Plymouth in collaboration with the company themselves throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. An NVQ in Professional Cookery Level 2 will be awarded to the successful candidate on completion of the apprenticeship.
