    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Throughout your apprenticeship you will attend the training centre for your training which will be delivered every 4-6 weeks. There could be the chance for full time employment for the right person.

Duties will include:

  • Applying render materials to external surfaces.
  • Fixing dry and plasterboard products to interiors.
  • Forming sand and cement screeds.
  • Producing fibrous plaster components.
  • Fixing Plaster boards.
  • Applying plasters materials to internal surfaces
  • positioning and securing fibrous components

( You will be fully supported throughout your apprenticeship)

  • Some experience in general building work would be beneficial for this post.

You may have the chance to progress onto an Advance Apprenticeship. Full time employment may be available for the right learner.
