You will develop an understanding of construction skills, terminology and methodology, as well as developing practical understanding of the importance of health and safety and the environmental requirements involved.

Whilst keeping a journal of your daily experiences of site, you will be supported to achieve NVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering and be ready to take up a post of Assistant Site Engineer on completion.

Typical daily tasks of a Civil Engineer include:

  • Working both on site and in an office
  • Creating blueprints
  • Deciding if projects are feasible
  • Looking at environmental impact and risk
  • Preparing bids
  • Managing projects

  • Although no previous experience is required, you will have a passion for the construction industry and will want to help shape the future and build for a better society

  • You’ll be a self-starter and above all you will share our ethical values in everything you do
  • Building strong relationships and working to high standards with sustainable choices in mind

Qualifications required

  • 4 GCSEs grades 4-9 (grades A-C) or equivalents, these must include Maths, English and Science subject


Future prospects

We will help you to achieve your NVQ Level 3 but the development doesn't stop there. You will be ready to take up a post of Assistant Site Engineer on completion and we will support you to work your way to becoming a fully chartered Civil Engineer.
