    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The role of the apprentice in Ren-O-Tec will be not far from the role of our general staff. They will be treated equally and expected to carry out tasks as best they can ( we do understand however that training will be needed for some things and it will be a learning process )

The apprentice will either report to Martin Simpson who is the director or Gracie Davies on reception who will give out the daily jobs and also make sure you have everything you need to carry out the task.

Duties may include:

  • Assisting in the upkeep of the workshop and ensuring that tools are cleaned and correctly stored
  • Assisting with fault finding and repairs
  • Working alongside a supervisor to carry out services

You will complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Maintenance. This will take three years to complete and you will attend PROCAT college in Basildon for 1 day per week.
