Technical Services Apprentice
Having expanded its own team to accommodate the initial rapid take up of tenants and members, The Landing now requires a Technical Services Apprentice to support its management of the IT and AV infrastructure and services.

The Technical Services Apprentice would work directly to the Technical Services Manager on a day-to-day basis. They would be required to undertake practical tasks to set up equipment and systems for events and technical sessions, as well as for tenant and other occupiers of The Landing. They will need to have good interpersonal skills and the potential to learn new technical skills through hands on work experience and academic study.

This post is a maximum of 37.5hrs per week to be agreed on a flexible basis with the successful candidate.

Duties would include:

  • Assisting with 3rd party AV and IT setup as directed by The Landing Technical Services Manager
  • Work on regular maintenance and checking of IT and AV systems to minimise future issues
  • Assisting with 3rd party setup requirements of the Specialist Operators especially in the media lounge
  • Responding to and effectively dealing with IT and AV issues raised by any of the tenants of The Landing
  • Help with the diagnosis and the organising of the correction of hardware and software faults.
  • Ensure sound working practices, methodologies and documentation are followed
  • To provide advice and guidance to non-technical customers in the use of AV equipment and applications.
  • To be a team player who can communicate with team members and Customers at all levels in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To assist with the install/configure and testing of equipment that is connected to the Data and Voice Networks.
  • To carry out site surveys and draw up appropriate technical documentation as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
  • To assist with the diagnosis and the correction of hardware and software faults involving computer and communications hardware and software
  • The post holder must carry out their duties with full regard to the Landing’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Undertaking academic study including maintaining diaries and logs of workplace tasks to support learning achievements.
  • To undertake such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

Training provider

The Estio Training IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive nine weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
