    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

A family run business in Banstead are looking for an apprentice to join their team. The business is a successful delicatessen and event catering company. You will b training in Front and Back of House. You will be working with the team for events including some off-site working so a flexible approach is required.

If you are passionate about good customer service and want to have a career in the Hospitality industry this could be the perfect start for you. You will also learn about catering and there will be an element of cooking for this role. You should have a good attitude to work and to be ready to learn new skills but most of all to be reliable and dependable.

For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
