    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The Quantock School of Riding are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated Assistant Office Manager (Advanced Level 3 Apprentice) to run the day to day administration of the office, social media and client attraction/retention activities.

 

Duties:

  • Organising files, existing and new.
  • Control and management of the pony club events and activities organiser.
  • Keeping contact with existing and creating new client base.
  • Answering and taking bookings.
  • Emailing and maintaining contact with the visiting private schools.
  • You will need to be Apple Mac confident and experienced.
  • PR and office within BHS highly approved yard alongside high quality Pony Club approved Centre.
  • Must be confident with social media as there is lots of Facebook and Instagram activity and writing newsletters.
  • Developing and generating a system that enables clients to feel supported through their learning journey with the aim to encourage and maintain regular consistent lessons visits. 

 

Putting into action new ideas to make any improvements. To include pony club / own a pony days, fresh attractive ideas to encourage new and existing clients, junior beginners sections to the advanced senior sections in groups lessons and private instruction with the International level III professional event rider, and all day pony days .

 

You will have support from the senior instructor’s wife, who managed the international event venues in Portugal but you must also be happy and have the confidence and skills to work alone.

The equestrian centre was established in 2009 by Catherine Chester and her family on the grounds of her 50 acre farm set in the hamlet of Halsway, near Crowcombe, West Somerset. The centre is run by Catherine and together with a team of friendly, experienced and qualified instructors, coaches and office staff, offers a welcoming and professional environment for people wishing to ride. The Centre provides equestrian education to every one of all ages and abilities. We help people reach personal goals from sitting on a horse for the first time to developing high-level dressage, show- jumping and cross-country skills. Our centre is a safe and nurturing environment where people of all abilities will be taught by our highly qualified and experienced instructors and coaches.

Training provider

  • You will be trained in the workplace alongside your usual duties and you will be expected to attend college for three days for exams and ones a week if you have to take your functional skills.
  • You will work towards achieving a level 2 apprenticeship in Business Administration including work based and knowledge components, an employee rights and responsibilities qualification, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and if required Functional Skills.
