    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Duties will include, but will not be limited to;

  • Administrative duties on the company database
  • Booking of meetings
  • Reception duties including meeting and greeting visitors, making appointments etc
  • Taking and relaying comprehensive messages, making outbound calls and taking inbound calls
  • Taking minutes of meetings and distributing them
  • Photocopying, printing shredding and other general administrative duties
  • Preparing drawings for site
  • General good housekeeping
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested

  • Ability to take instructions from experienced team members
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Be IT literate
  • Have excellent communication skills (written, oral and aural)

Must have the following attributes;

  • Be well presented at all times
  • Have a professional manner
  • Be polite and friendly

Qualifications required

  • GCSEs at grade A - C in English and Maths or equivalent
  • An IT-based qualification would be an advantage but is not essential

Future prospects

Employment and progression within the organisation may be possible upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
