Apprentice required to learn general engineering skills and work towards becoming a competent maintenance apprentice.  The initial training will take place on a full time basis at In-Comm Training Services, Aldridge, Walsall and will involve:-

  • Milling
  • Turning
  • Bench fitting
  • CAD
  • Health and Safety

After completion of this training you will return to the company and you will be involved with:

  • Preventative and break down maintenance
  • Mechanical and electrical work

Future prospects

Long term prospects may include a position as the Maintenance Manager, Systems Engineer or Maintenance Team Leader.

Things to consider

The level 2 apprenticeship training will be full time at In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, Walsall for the first 9 months. Please ensure that you are able to travel there. The hours for attending In-Comm are 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 2.30pm on Fridays. The hours at the company are 7.00am to 4.00pm. From the 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
