We have a small team of 4 trained Chefs in our kitchen so the successful candidate will have the opportunity and be expected to get involved in all levels of the food preparation and cooking. This is a full and varied role.


We always work with fresh produce from local suppliers to create modern dishes with influences from all over the world. The successful Apprentice will therefore learn how to cook world foods from scratch from Moroccan tagine, Thai curries & tapas to classic British & European dishes such as fish & chips and steaks.




  • To assist the Chefs in every aspect of the kitchen including cooking, cleaning, paperwork etc.
  • To attend college and gain a qualification




  • Assistance in the daily preparation of all ingredients and dishes
  • Making simple dishes moving up to a small section when fully trained
  • Plating up of simple dishes & helping on the pass
  • Assisting senior chefs on busy sections
  • Daily cleaning

  • All legislation and company policies & procedures
  • Help and assist you to improve your skills via college and in house training

Future prospects

There is potential to move up through the company as there are 2 restaurants and we always try to promote from within. Both of our Head Chefs started as Commis Chefs with us.

Things to consider

Weekend work required. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
